admin: Atheists (especially the "New Atheists" like Dawkins? - the author of "The God Delusion" are actually quite involved in trying to convince other people (counter-evangelism?) that God does not exist and/or if He does, then based on all the evil in the world this means that He isn't a holy, righteous, benevolent judge of the universe (kinda like your position, GM).

Maybe they are, and maybe they're not. Many atheists simply wish to be left alone without Godists trying to shoehorn their religion into every facet of life, personal and civil, including areas where it does not belong, nor is required. That's the way it is, and has been since long before the so-called 'new atheists' came onto the scene.

The "God is dead" movement of the 60's was in order to promote secular humanism. Today, such people have their secular humanistic environment here in the U.S., however, they now have extended it to a hatred for God and God's own.

Such an environment has always existed; it's just bigger now, that's all. It's possible these days, in this place, to declare one's disbelief without meeting universal gasps of horror and murmurings of "Kill the unbeliever!" Once you think of yourself as 'God's own', it's easy to develop a nasty attitude toward anyone you think is not God's own...you don't need for me to drag in historical examples, do you?
Unfortunately, this attitude occurs not only with 'God's own' but with any group of people who, for whatever reason, consider themselves to be elite.

These people have grown up and aged physically, but their spiritual growth is either stunted or just plain non-existent. This, of course, is to their eternal detriment.

You're the ones who believe in an invisible, all-powerful Big Daddy in the sky, but we're the ones who are immature? Get a clue.
